O Captain, My Captain
It was a sad day when I heard the news that Robin Williams had passed. I went from shock and disbelief to an overwhelming feeling of loss that we’ll never see Robin Williams share his gift of laughter with the world.
He was more than just a comedy genius. Robin Williams understood life and how to live it with a smile on your face.
I can’t recall a time in my life when Robin Williams wasn’t on TV or in the movies. I’m old enough to remember watching Mork and Mindy when the show came on our weekly TV line-up.
Who was this man with the crazy behavior that left me in tears after every show? I begged my mom for a pair of rainbow suspenders. I wanted to be like Mork and make weird sounds and wear my suspenders every day to school.
I never did get my rainbow clothes but I did keep watching Mork and Mindy until it ended in the 80’s. I even remember the last season when Jonathon Winters was added to the cast.
Messages from Robin Williams
As the world mourns the loss of Robin Williams, social media sites have been overwhelmed with quotes and images from all of Robin’s movies and appearances.
And like everyone else, I read the quotes, Liked the posts, pinned the images and shared them with others.
Then when the movie quotes started to come out, something occurred to me. There was something in those words from Williams’ most popular movie quotes that started to resonate with me. Not just for me personally, but for me, the small business owner.
For today’s post, I wanted to share with you five of my favorite movie quotes that felt more like messages to all of us solopreneurs.
